Why Don't Bunker Rakes Level Infields?

Bunker Rakes were never intended to Level!

They were not designed to level. All bunker rakes are designed to "smoothen" only. Their original purpose is to be used in golf course sand bunkers. Golf course bunkers are "bowl shaped"....like a soup bowl.

Leveling Infields requires the finisher implement to be locked into a "Leveling Position". Notice the left end of finisher is sagged down and right end is lifted up on pile. Loose Chains do not lock the finisher implement into a "leveling position" for infields. JD does not explain this when they sell these for infield customers. Most customers do not realize this until after they own the 1200A machine with Finisher Rake.
We can help! Consider our "Improvement Kit". It greatly improves the leveling function of the finisher by locking it into a "leveling position". With our kit the finisher would level this pile.

Chains are loose. They do not engage the finisher to the infield to promote leveling. Loose chains allow the finisher to ride up over high areas and sink down into low areas. This is not a good design for leveling. Our improvement kit locks the finisher at the height you set to ensure the finisher cuts high spots and fills low areas to level infields.

Did you know. Implements that are lifted with chains are purposely designed "not to level". That's right. When these 1200A machines were designed they were meant for golf course bowl shaped sand bunkers. And golf courses do not intend to level their bunkers. They only want to smoothen them. Thus these 1200A finishers are unable to level infields and keep them level....unless you add our improvement kit. 

Infields should be "Level and Smooth". Our Kit gives you both.

You can test this yourself if you own a 1200A Bunker Rake with a Field Finisher. Lift one end of the finisher.
If you can lift one end then the same thing happens when grooming infields. when you have low areas or high areas on infields it requires the finisher to be locked into position - if it floats it won't level.

Golf courses do not intend to level their sand bunkers. They only want to smoothen them. If you want to level your infields with the 1200A Bunker Rake and Finisher then it requires a kit to improve how they function. Our kit accomplishes this.
